ENTRY 1 – Lý Thị Thúy Hằng
Item 1: Poem

Give a man a fish1 to make a dish
And you will feed him for a day
But teach a man how to fish
2
And help keep his hunger away.

Rhetorical devices:
-          Rhyme: dish – fish, day – away.
-          Assonance: give – fish – dish, feed, teach – fish, keep.
-          Metaphor: fish1 (facilities, material which are needed for survival), fish2 (earn money)
-          Symbol: a day (short period of time), hunger (poverty, difficulty)
Massage:
Teaching the poor how to earn money to enrich themselves is the most effective and positive way of help, rather than providing them with short-term facilities.
Item 2: Story
Once there was a blind boy. He fell in love with a girl.
One day girl asked him ...
" Will you marry me?"
He said ...
" Yes I will, but only whe
n I shall be able to see you."
After some days someone donated him eyes. He was very happy to see his love. But when he saw his girl, he was shocked that she was also blind. He refused to marry her.
She smiled and walked away whispering in boy's ears,
" As you wish my dear. I just wanted to say one thing. Please Take Care Of My Eyes"
Rhetorical device:
-          Metaphor: the eyes (the girl’s sacrificial love to the boy), being blind (one’s imperfection and disadvantage).

If one is really in love with his partner, he must come over every obstacles of imperfection and disadvantage of his lover as well as himself. Moreover, love is to be sacrifice for and cherished.

Item 3: Comic

Rhetorical devices:
-          Metaphor: medicine – the considerateness and love that mother gives to her child, the mother’s death – not being beside her child.

  2. In general, your entries are all meaningful and touching. However, they might be better if you spend some time consider my following comments:
    - About the first entry, i think it uses parallelism (Give a man a fish to make a dish-teach a man how to fish; feed him for a day-keep his hunger away).
    - In my opinion, the second entry uses climax when the poor girl says that "Please Take Care Of My Eyes".
    - About the last entry, It uses climax when Nobita reads the letter. After his mother passes away, he is sick and continually asks for his mother's help, and then he finds his mother's letter. The entry also uses metonymy (the letter- Nobita 's mother).
Besides, I don't think facebook.com/chedoraemon is a reliable source, so you should consider that.
Anyway, thank you so much for sharing! :)
